Sewer Drain Repairs
The sewer drain is the lateral pipe that carries waste and water to the sewer. It is the property owner’s responsibility to maintain and repair the sewer drain until it reaches the city connection. In older homes, you’ll find cast-iron as the drain pipe and clay as sewer pipe. In newer homes, ABS or PVC are used for the sewer drain.
Reasons to Repair the Sewer Drain?
Drains should have routine checks so they can continue to be efficient and blockage can be prevented. At times, the blockages can go undetected for a long time and the build-up can create major damage to your home. A camera inspection is highly recommended and it’ll help determine the health of the drain pipe.
Here are a few examples to know if your drain needs to be repaired:
- Shower – hair and soap are clogging the drain, water covering your feet
- Toilet – gurgling water or backup in shower after flushing toilet
- Calling the Plumber to keep unclogging the same area over and over
- Overflow or backup when the washing machine drains
- Backup of water from toilet, sink, shower, etc.
The drain may be too damaged or old that a trenchless pipe lining would be the best option for repair, especially if you have invested in the landscaping.
